What I'm loving...

1. The fact that another week is almost OVER! I hate to say that, but it's been crazzzzy around these parts. I also get to see my sweet husband again this weekend, so that's always a perk!

2. My friend started making jewelry and it's adorable. She's so talented and I'm a tad jealous! Go check her out on Facebook!

3. I was loving the slightly cooler weather, but Summer decided to come back today. gah

4. Speaking of cooler weather, I'm loving the cute fall clothes I've seen at stores and on Pinterest! I only wish I had unlimited funds to buy them all.

What are you loving today?

Five Fun

August is chalk full of birthdays. Every week in August we're celebrating one of my family member's birthdays. This week was my nephew Will's big 5th birthday! He wanted pancakes, so we went to Cracker Barrel. I think he ate two bites of his pancakes, but the rest of us enjoyed our meal!

Here's the birthday boy, complete with the CB grape jelly stained shirt! :-)

Just a tad crazy!

He received a cool police car, so he can be like Uncle B!

I can't wait to share in some more 5 year old fun!

I miss...

I'm getting a bit home sick for my husband and puppies. It's been 3 weeks since I've seen the girls and quite frankly I miss their faces. Thankfully, I am going down TODAY and spending an extended weekend with them!

But....I'm loving that I get to see:

I wouldn't trade moving back or my job for anything, but I sure can't wait til we're a family again.

60 is the new 40

My FIL turned the big 6-0 a couple weeks ago! He wanted to go to Chappy's on Church, a creole seafood place, to celebrate. Unfortunately Ben was unable to come up, but I was more that happy to join them for supper.

We were seated in a nice little niche, so it was super quaint and conducive for great conversation. Our waiter was superb and very friendly. We were immediately given some yummy bread and four different types of butter. One was made with smoked Alligator. Um...weird. FIL wanted a "scary mary" (aka Bloody Mary), which apparently was strong enough to put hair on your chest! ha! Our food was delicious and they gave FIL a New Orleans-style "bread pudding" for his birthday dessert.

All in all, it was a nice way to celebrate living 60 years! :-)

Family fun

This past weekend my Uncle and his family came into town from IL! It was one of my Aunt's 50th birthdays and we had a weekend full of activities.

We had a yummy brunch at Ellendale's. I couldn't decide between breakfast or lunch so I had both! I think I ate enough to feed a small army, but it was that good!

My cousins & brother!

Later that evening, we all went to Arrington Vineyards to listen to jazz music. We had a picnic and cupcakes and just sat & talked! It was such a peaceful night, even if it was hottt!

My Aunt had goody bags full of candy from the 60's, so of course we had to make use of the wax lips! Yeah, we aren't right!!

I love having my family in town, but need a vacation from the weekend! Ha!
