It was a small class (only 6 couples) and surprisingly very laid back and at ease. This week we talked about the different stages of the birthing process, warning signs, when to go to the hospital, inducing/sections, a bit about relaxation techniques and other things.
We began our session with the "not-so-fun" things about pregnancy. My #1 was heartburn. I've had it since day one and it's not fun. Anyways, the RN mentioned that another not fun thing about pregnancy is nasal congestion. She asked if anyone experienced that symptom and MY HUSBAND raised his hand! The whole room laughed and I joked he was having sympathy symptoms!! Man...can't take him anywhere! :-)
About half way through, she sent the men to another room and we had to answer questions separately. We had three questions (best thing about pg, worst thing and biggest fears). The girls took the full 10 minutes and answered each question fully. We had a long list. The men appparently took all of 3 minutes to answer the questions and then (according to B) talk about the football game and other men things. At least they answered the questions, I guess!

After our discussion, we watched the birthing video. Thankfully none of the men passed out! It was quite informative and not as corny as it could've been.
We went on a tour of the L&D floor and of the lactation boutique and then back to the room for relaxation techniques. We were required to bring a tennis ball, blanket and pillow. We listened to music and got to lie down while our husbands massaged our backs. Um...awesome! I did not want to get back up!

Hilarious picture of B! We loved our class...the video was a little shocking for the men.
